I work hard because I’m afraid of losing out. Not to others but to my previous self. I’m also working hard because my parents are paying so much money for my livings, education and welfare overseas. For the sacrifices that my parents have made for me. To tell those people who are secretly laughing behind my back saying I can’t do it, I CAN. And to prove that I’m special. But the most important thing that keeps me going on is my love in learning new things.

I work hard because I know that there are people way less privileged than I, and I should definitely work my hardest to make sure these privileges are not wasted. Instead of watching people suffer and living in comfort, I’ll definitely do all I can to help them. 

I work hard because when my father told me how I am crap and never gonna be anything, I swore to become someone awesome later, someone who helps this world. And when the children service and shitty psychologist and the court told me similar things, I again swore to show them all what I am capable of.

I work hard so I can prove to my family that I can make it. I work hard because I am afraid of failure. I work hard to prove that I CAN be/do whatever I want to be/do.

I work hard to get the grades my teachers said I couldn’t, to go to my first choice uni, to give myself the best chance in a competitive career path, and the best future I can!

I work hard, so that one day in the future, when I look into my past I know I did my best to get where I am today

I work hard to give myself options. I work hard because I endure so much crap everyday that I want to make at least part of my time in high school worth something. I work hard to show people that women and minorities can be successful. I work hard for the hope that one day I’ll be happy.

I work hard because I want myself to be better than I am now. 

I work hard because I know that in the end the hard work I put in now will make me a better speech language pathologist in the future.

I work hard because i want to change the world. Even if thats by helping only one person, the fact that I was able to improve their life - even if it was only by a minuscule amount - is what I am working for. I want to make myself a better version of my past and present self. I want to continuously learn and grow and travel and prosper. I work hard  not only for my own future, but for others- my family, my friends, my teachers- everyone who has said they believed in me.

I work hard because I know women can be successful in the field of engineering and computer science. Also, they can be CEOs of famous businesses.

I work hard because I want to live my life knowing that I’ve accomplished something. I work hard for myself. We have goals for a reason. I work towards achieving my goals so I can learn new things and get past obstacles along the way. We’re so lucky to have access to so many resources today that provides a chance to learn more things, so why not learn more?

I work hard to prove to not only myself, but to the world I am capable and that I have accomplished what I set out to achieve. I work hard to be a role model for those around me and for those who are struggling for some kind of direction. I work hard because I want to prove to the world that you can be a successful, independent, ambitious and accomplished business woman AND an excellent wife and mother. I work hard because when I do get married and have kids (well, depends on my love life), I want to show the world that tradition and ambition are not mutually exclusive. I work hard because I want to help others reach their full potential because I believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to do so. 

I work hard so i can give my parents the life they truly deserve, a life that reflects their hard work and the time, love, and happiness that they gave me. I work hard so that i won’t waste the opportunities they gave me and the sacrifices they made for me to lead a happy and good life.
